Prime 505 in Collingswood might be better called "Sub-Prime .505." I am curous to know whether any of the three employees present for our meal were managers--I can't imagine an owner or manager of a restaurant not being aghast at the poor service we received. We made the mistake of going two nights before the restaurant closed for the summer. I can only guess that the owner/regular chef/regular staff had already gone on vacation, and that we were served by untrained fill-ins. The chef out in the parking lot catching a smoke when we arrived should have been a sign. Most entrees were not available--think, "steak house without much steak"--or lamb, or appetizers, for that matter. What food there was wasn't bad. Food delivery, however, was unbelievably poorly coordinated. To summarize, our table of six essentailly was served at six different times--kind of like dining alone, but together. My daughter had her salad delivered after all other appetizers had been served--and eaten. Wow. Entrees were delivered two at a time to our table of six--about 8 or so minutes apart. My potato arrived as I was finishing my steak. My daughters steak arrived 15 minutes after her fries were delivered. When her steak finally arrived, everyone else had finished eating well earlier. As only 4 other patrons were in the restaurant, it's hard to attribute this poor service to crowdwd conditions. When I approached our server privately ro speak of my concerns, they were somehow overheard by the chef, who then became both argumentative and combative. "I am doing the best that I can" was his loudly repated mantra. Thin skin? Over-sensitive to feedback? Refugee from rehab? All of the above, in my opinion. A $400 dinner tab at a BYOB is a signicant amount of money, and should engenderappropriate service, without arguments. Before you spend Butcher and Singer/Davios/The Palm kind of money for a meal, do yourself a favor and get the real thing. Prime 505 was not up to the task, and although we live locally, we will not go again.

We just had the pleasure of dining at 505 Prime and must say was very happy with everything. Yes it is byob, that was fine. The quality of the food was off the chart. The presentation simple but very appealing. If the quality is there who needs lemon grass, rosemary, etc on your plate to make it look pretty. The quality again was superb. I had the bone in rib eye and it was close to fork tender. All four of us dining had an exceptional experience here. The service was excellent. Our server Kelly was fantastic. The owner Chris extremely personable. We definitely will be returning. Thank you 505 for an enjoyable experience on this 2010 New Year’s Eve.
